Hamlin’s Marine is looking for a skilled and motivated Marine Service Technician to join our growing service team. We are seeking someone with strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic abilities who takes pride in their work and is looking for a long-term opportunity with one of Maine’s most established marine dealerships.

As a Marine Service Technician, you’ll work on a wide variety of boats, engines, and marine systems. Responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing and repairing outboard and inboard engines

• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, fuel, and rigging systems

• Performing routine maintenance, seasonal service, and repairs

• Rigging and assembling new boat packages

• Installing electronics, accessories, controls, and other marine equipment

• Diagnosing and servicing preowned boats, motors, and trailers

• Performing water tests and verifying repairs when necessary

• Completing work accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard

Our technicians work with quality, name-brand boats, engines, electronics, and marine equipment, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to continue developing their skills.

Marine industry experience is strongly preferred, but we are also interested in experienced automotive, powersports, recreational vehicle, or equipment technicians whose skills translate well to the marine industry.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities

• Electrical troubleshooting experience

• The ability to work independently and solve problems

• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• A dependable and professional attitude

• A willingness to learn and continue developing technical skills

• A valid driver’s license

• Authorization to work in the United States

Manufacturer certifications and previous marine experience are a plus, but we are most interested in finding someone with the right combination of skill, experience, work ethic, and attitude.

This is a full-time, year-round position.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:30 AM, with additional hours available during our busy boating season. Seasonal Saturdays from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM may be required.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, technical ability, certifications, and qualifications.

Today, Hamlin’s Marine operates full-service locations in Waterville and Hampden, including our marina on the Penobscot River, with a team of more than 40 employees.
